This photo "Sunset Through the Keyhole" has been chosen for the cover of the Kansas "Western Vistas Scenic Byways" brochure. The photo taken at Monument Rocks in Gove County, Kansas by Alan Hutchins was recently chosen to be used on the cover of the travel brochure used to promote the Western Vista Scenic Byway located in Western Kansas.

This byway was the first Historic Byway to be designated in Kansas. It offers travelers a 102 mile tour starting from Scott City, Kansas and traveling north on Highway 83 to Oakley and then west along US-40 to Sharon Springs, Kansas. Winding through parts of three counties, Scott, Logan and Wallace, it features many historical and scenic sites along the Smoky Hill river as well as other areas. Prominent features and attractions include Lake Scott, Battle Canyon, Monument Rocks and Fort Wallace.

In the recent American Buffalo Photo Contest hosted on Fine Art of America, Missouri Photographer, Alan Hutchins captured 1st Place with his closeup photo and third place with another buffalo picture. Both photos were taken at the Maxwell Wildlife Preserve outside of Canton, Kansas.

Photographer Alan Hutchins recently took 3rd Place in a "New to FAA" photo contest on Fine Art America. The contest was open to all new members to the community of artists that display their work on Fine Art of America.
